The Story of Misty Ridge Organics
Promoting Wellness & Balance
Misty Ridge Organics was created from a vision to offer high quality CBD products that everyone can afford. I made it my mission to find a way to offer affordable products to people wanting to explore more healthy holistic solutions. I became certified in CBD Physiology and Health, then sought out the most reputable oil Manufacturer in the CBD Industry and decided it was time to bring these high quality products to you.
Our Oil Extraction: The CO2 extraction method uses carbon dioxide under high pressure and extremely low temperatures to isolate, preserve, and maintain the purity of the medicinal oil. This process is expensive but, when completed the end product is safe, potent, and free of waxes and chlorophyll. High Quality Full Spectrum oil should be golden to amber in color, others may have a green tinge depending on the carrier oil used.
Our Isolate Oils: Winterization is the process for chilling chemical compounds, which is needed to extract impurities from the CBD. With CBD Isolate, the winterization process takes away any waxes or other components like terpenes, chlorophyll and/or flavonoids remaining in the CBD.
Once that process is complete, the manufacturer is left with pure CBD powder, which has no levels of THC and is at a level that is 99% pure cannabidoil. Raw material grown on organic farms from Kentucky and Colorado. Processed in an FDA & cGMP Facility. Facility provides third party testing using Analytical360 lab.

The Info You’re After
What is the best carrier oil for CBD?
MCT Oil is the perfect carrier oil for CBD, it is a Medium Chain Triglyceride which is easily absorbed into the liver, meaning it bypasses the digestive system and retains around 70% of the CBD potency. Many would think Hemp Seed Oil would naturally be the best carrier, but Hemp Seed Oil needs to go through the digestive system before the P450 Enzymes can metabolize the product and therefore only retains around 47% of the CBD potency. Also, MCT creates bioavailability. CBD bioavailability is the percentage of CBD that is actually absorbed into the bloodstream. This is important because the more you actually absorb into the bloodstream, the more potent the effect.
What is the Endocannabinoid System?
The endocannabinoid system is made up of several integrated mechanisms:
enzymes responsible for creating and destroying cannabinoids
receptor sites on cells to receive cannabinoids (CB1 and CB2)
the endocannabinoids themselves (compounds that are naturally produced by the human body).
Together, these mechanisms are predominantly responsible for regulating body processes and functions. Endocannabinoids interact with the CB1 and CB2 receptor sites with the goal of helping the body achieve homeostasis, or balance.
CB1 and CB2 receptors respond differently, respectively, to different cannabinoids. CB1 receptors, most prevalent in the central nervous system, are linked to modulating stress, anxiety, appetite, immune system balance, and even the inhibition of tumors. CB2 receptors, found mostly on cells in the immune system, seem to dominate in fighting inflammation and damage to tissue. Some cells can even contain both types of receptors, each responsible for a different function. Always consult your primary care provider before starting a new regiment.
Can CBD have negative interactions with certain medications?
Yes. CBD (cannabidoil) can interact with other medications that, like itself, are metabolized in the body by the cytochrome p450 enzymes CYP3A4 and CYP2C19. By competing for these enzymes, CBD can reduce the metabolism of such drugs, raising their blood levels and possibly requiring downward adjustment of their doses. This has been seen in clinical trials in which hundreds of milligrams of CBD are given daily. The effect may be less pronounced with CBD supplements that provide smaller doses (single or tens of milligrams). If your medication says do not take with Grapefruit, than CBD may also create an adverse effect.
